This hybrid course employs principles of active learning and universal design to teach historical literacy. Students learn through the direct experience of using source evidence to answer for themselves compelling questions about the nation’s past, and evaluating historical arguments made in popular media and textbooks. Onsite meetings support skill development through modeling and collaboration. Online components allow students to access, evaluate, and share ideas through multiple modalities.
